RasGas awarded a large brownfield contract to McDermott for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of a flow assurance and looping project which consists of 6 and 8 inch pipeline and topside modifications with lengths of 74 miles in offshore Qatar. The proposed and planned date for completion is evaluated to be at the end of the summer 2017.
The cooperation between McDermott as an EPC contractor and RasGas in recent two decades has been continued consistently, as McDermott EPC responsibility in offshore Qatar in installation and fabrication of RasGas facilities is undeniable. A number of concept studies and Front End Engineering Design (FEED) projects has been executed by McDermott, all performed under the agreement between the two companies named Engineering Service Agreement (ESA). Furthermore, three helidecks are being upgraded by McDermott team.
McDermott is going to extend its service to Dubai, UAE where it can implement EPC projects. Currently, installation work is undertaken by Vessels from McDermott global fleet.
